John 7:38 “Whoever is thirsty may come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from their heart. That is what the Scriptures say.”

Too many people settle for a dry life, a life devoid of spiritual life, of a real experience of the Presence of God working in them and through them, and that is such a waste – a complete waste – because it need not be so.

Sometimes people ask me, “Why is my faith so dry? I mean, I believe in Jesus but somehow it’s just not real.”

That’s not an uncommon problem. In fact, it’s one of the most frequent questions that I’m asked. People want to live a real, rich, dynamic faith but somehow it just ain’t happening.

So I in turn ask them, “How much time do you spend with Jesus? I mean, if you love someone, you spend time with them, right? How much of your life, your priorities, the way you spend your money and your time and your energies – how much of this life that you live is spent with Him and for Him?”

Dead silence.

It’s pretty obvious. If we believe one thing with our hearts and do another thing with our hands, it just doesn’t work. We can’t say that we believe in Jesus and we expect to have this rich vibrant faith walk if we don’t live our lives that way.

Are you perhaps a bit thirsty? Then I want to encourage you to do something about it. Go to the well and drink. Take a deep, satisfying draft of that living water. Spend time with Jesus. Spend time for Jesus.

He put it like this:

John 7:37,38 “Whoever is thirsty may come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from their heart. That is what the Scriptures say.”

Don’t settle for a dry, lifeless faith walk. Go and drink, and the floodtide of His Spirit will drench you and overflow out of you.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
