Psalm 27:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour. (NRSV)

Excellent analogy

Alicia

God first set me free by dying on the cross for my sins, his grace to wash my sins away and offer me salvation by my own free will choice. There is nothing that could make me or anyone who believes in Jesus as God more free, the choice of salvation. I can also think of times through out my walk when God has set me free. Physically from illness, mentally from depression and anxiety, emotionally… God’s goodness in my life in setting me free many ways reminds me of the ultimate freedom, the ultimate gift of salvation. Ironically the ultimate freedom of salvation is free, freely offered. There has not been one day that I could regret accepting Jesus salvation, it is the single most important decision of my life. What is your choice?

Julie Farrell

I actually found Spiritual freedom when I “left the Church”! I never lost my faith in God, in fact, it became stronger because I had to put my faith and trust fully in Him and not in people who called themselves Christians and whom I thought of as my family, my brothers and sisters in Christ!
I was in a prison of my own making and I escaped!
I now attend Quakers where I have the opportunity to explore and discern my own God led Spiritual Journey and it’s taken me to places that I would never have imagined!
My Bible reading this morning was Romans 12:2:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
God prompted me to go to Buddhist classes! To a Christian, I know that this sounds really strange but here I received healing (from the deep trauma that my previous Church caused) through the wisdom of Buddha! I now see Buddha as part of my extended Spiritual family!
Thank you Berni for your thoughtful words each day!

JOHN 8-23
If the makes you free then you shall be free indeed.

But we must believe what the word says. So in obedience l do and am free.
