So many people, without even realising it, are expending so much emotional energy running from their past. I did, for a good many years. How about you?

Running from your past, the things you did, the things that were done to you that were clearly wrong, is exhausting. It’s conflicting. You want to live your best life now, but somehow the regrets of your past rob you of that.

I’m able to articulate that so clearly because I’ve been there. And eventually, I came to the realisation (slow learner that I am) that one of the things I was running from was God. In the back of my brain, in the depths of my heart, I knew that there was a God who loved me, but I was so deeply ashamed of what I’d done and who I’d become. How about you?

Romans 5:1 We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In other words, when we believe in Jesus, that He died on that Cross to take the punishment we so richly deserve for our misdeeds, we have peace with God. Peace. The end of conflict. Finally, peace through Jesus Christ.

That’s not Good News, it’s Sensational News – for me and for you. We’re made right with God through our faith in Jesus, through whom we have peace with God. Finally.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
