Matthew 9:28-29 When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.”

When you listen to God’s promises, sometimes they sound completely outrageous. They are so over the top, so out there, that they’re almost impossible to believe. I mean, it’s easy enough for God to make those promises from the air-conditioned comfort of heaven, but believing them, when your life is what it is, when you have going on around you the “stuff” that we all have happening in our lives, well, that’s another thing.

You want to believe outrageous promises like, “ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you”, but should you, really?

I don’t want to be presumptuous when I go to God and ask Him for things. I’m sure you don’t either. So what do we dare to ask Him for?

I remember one day sitting in a huge auditorium – the place was packed with just over eleven thousand people, because there was a well-known visiting preacher in town.

And as I sat there, looking around at all these people, my heart leapt within me. I prayed – Lord if only I could tell this many people about Jesus. It seemed impossible. I was still at Bible College, I was only a young Christian, I didn’t know anything much and honestly, my life wasn’t anywhere near where it needed to be to tell just one person about Jesus, let alone eleven thousand.

You get it right? You’ve had those rushes of blood to the head, wanting God to answer a big prayer and then feeling silly, as I did, for daring to ask in the first place.

Yet I felt God answer me – What? Just eleven thousand? That’s a drop in the ocean. My plans for you are much bigger than this!

I couldn’t have told anyone about it back then. They’d have thought it was pride. They’d have though I was stupid. But I never forgot that encounter with God.

When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.” (Matthew 9:28-29)

And so here I am with you today, sharing the love of Christ with you, and countless other people through radio, through television, through the internet and print and on it goes.

Something a dear friend at Bible College taught me. He said this: Bible faith, in the Bible God, gets Bible results.

Jesus never, ever criticised people for having too much faith in Him. In fact the opposite is true. He criticised them for having too little faith.

Let me say it again: Bible faith in the Bible God gets Bible results.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
