How far do you travel each day? Perhaps you commute to and from work. Maybe you go out for a run or a walk. Every now and then you go on a longer journey, perhaps. Come on, how far on average, do you travel each day?

According to a recent article in the BBC’s Science Focus Magazine, every day the earth travels some 2.5 million kilometres on its orbit around the sun, and 19 million kilometres relative to the centre of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

That means that you too, each and every day, hurtle through space between two and a half and nineteen million kilometres depending on your perspective, without ever realising it. That’s the plain reality of how you travel through life. Does that blow you away? It does me!

Here’s another equally stunning truth about how anyone who believes in Jesus travels through life.

2 Timothy 1:7 The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.

God – the Creator of the Universe, no less – has put His Holy Spirit to dwell within anyone who, by faith, has set their life’s orbit around Jesus, with all that power, all that love, all that self-control – more than you and I will ever need – right there within, like a nuclear power plant to propel you forward into the life that He’s prepared for you.

Friend, when you put your trust in Jesus, you are never alone. You always have all the power, love and self-control you’ll ever need to get through the temptations and trials of this world.

So don’t be afraid. You have it all.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
